Find MP3

Help with my iMac please!?

Well I have an iMac that was find until a few days ago. Now all the items on my desktop are gone. I can not get to my MP3 player or anything. My finder won't show up either. The only thing I can get to is the items on my dock. I have tried every thing on system prefrences, and I can't figure it out.

1. Click on the apple > the drop down menu appears > click on software update It will go to apple.com and get everything your computer needs. It will download and install. It fixes little glitches that have been reported. It should fix your desktop, too. You can log in as another user and see if it is still doing it.
